Kiké Hernández and the Red Sox concur on a one-year extension

Kiké Hernández has decided to stay longer in Boston.According to reports, the Red Sox will sign the 31-year-old to a one-year

$10 million contract, bringing him back for the upcoming season. The news was first reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Prior to the 2021 season, the former Dodger agreed to a two-year deal with the Red Sox; he was scheduled to become free this offseason.

In 11 games throughout the postseason the previous year, Hernández hit.408 with five home runs and four doubles. In his career, he has participated in 69 postseason contests and with the Dodgers in 2020, he won a World Series ring.

Hernández hasn't been as effective at the plate in 2022, but his versatility and clubhouse presence make him still an useful player

He can fill in at second base and shortstop, and he has played good centre field defence.
