NBA Champion Announces That He Is Retiring
For the Kentucky Wildcats in 2009, Jodie Meeks, who was a junior in college, was a true star
The talented shooter had a staggering scoring average of 23.7 points and shot over 40% from beyond the arc.
He was then chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks with the number 41 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.
Over the course of his 10 seasons in the NBA, he also played for the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons.
He most recently participated in the 2019 NBA Championship with the Toronto Raptors, defeating the Golden State Warriors.
The 35-year-old competed in the G League last season despite not playing in the NBA for a few years, and he is presently competing for Team USA in the FIBA AmeriCup.
Meeks revealed that this will be his last appearance as a player in an interview with Steve Drumwright on the Team USA Basketball website (h/t Larry Brown Sports).
