Man is torn in half by an elephant after being forced to labour in sweltering heat.

 When police arrived at the scene of the event in southern Thailand, Pom Pam, a 20-year-old male elephant, had left the body of 32-year-old Supachai Wongfaed twisted in a pool of blood

 The report stated that Pom Pam had been forced to toil arduously in a rubber plantation in the province of Phang Nga despite the intense heat.

Authorities stated that after a preliminary inquiry that he had been lugging wood all morning on the day of the tragedy.

 Pom The report stated that Pam then turned on Wongfaed, his handler, and repeatedly attacked him with his tusks, tearing his body in half. 

Wongfaed's body had to be rescued from the elephant, which had to be tranquillized from more than 1,600 feet away with a dart. 

According to the study, Thailand reportedly outlawed using Asian elephants to transport logs in 1989, but the practise still persists in some regions of the nation
